The world's leading logistics company required the support of RGIS. 380,000 employees in over 220 countries and territories work every day to help customers cross borders, reach new markets and grow business. As a third party logistics (3PL) provider, the company can handle processes including procurement, warehouse management, transportation of goods and distribution, freight consolidation, order fulfillment, and customs brokerage among others.

REQUIREMENT
The logistics company needed a solution to count a customer's stock as the stock on hand file was incorrect, which impacted on stock availability, so required RGIS to provide the following:

• Logistics centre experience
• Data to update the customer's stock on hand file
• Count all of a customer's stock within specific areas in the logistic centre
• Variance checks to be completed

SOLUTION
The logistics company partnered with RGIS to complete the stock on hand file correction count project, and provided the following:

• Stock accurately counted and bin locations reported
• Scheduled a team of 20 experienced RGIS auditors for nine days
• The logistics company designated an area to count each day
• No stock movements were allowed to occur in the specified area, until the count and checking was completed, and system updated with the new output file
• Variance check was completed at count completion each day

• RGIS accurately counted a total of:
• 526,752 units
• 10,005 SKUs
• 1,685 bin locations
• System was updated with the output file to correct the customer's stock on hand file, which improved stock availability
