A hospital trust, part of one of the highest performing healthcare organisations in Europe, required the support of RGIS. The trust has a proven international reputation for its quality of care, information technology, clinical education, training and research, has multiple sites employing more than 20,000 members of staff.
REQUIREMENT
The hospital trust needed a solution to
update the asset register as the current system was not set up for the rapid growth within the hospital, and was causing blind spots in the data. The hospital trust required RGIS to provide the following:

National coverage to cover all 42 healthcare facilities

Count both capital and non-capital assets
- Data has to include
exact location, functionality, and a photo of each asset
- The solution has to
resolve all existing blind spots in the asset visibility
- Be able to
update existing asset register
SOLUTION
The hospital trust partnered with RGIS to complete the
healthcare asset register update project, and provided the following:

Experienced RGIS teams accurately counted both capital and non-capital assets
- Created an
enhanced base inventory program designed to correct the existing issues and improve
asset tracking
- The current tagging system was
converted to a more efficient system to record the data required

Implemented the new asset tracking system across the 42 healthcare facilities which included hospitals, health centres, residential care facilities and adult tertiary rehabilitation
RESULTS
The hospital trust found by outsourcing the
healthcare asset register update project
to RGIS, the following results were achieved:

25,000 assets counted over four months

New, efficient inventory program created and implemented

Electronic data return allowed for next-day reporting
- Gave the hospital trust the insight necessary to make
informed business decisions
